The Roosevelt Warm Springs Development Fund is so proud of the Roosevelt Warm Springs graduates and all they continue to achieve!
Meet Jonathan Pinkard - Former RWS Student and Current RWS Employee
Jonathan is quick to tell you that Roosevelt Warm Springs changed his life. As a Vocational Rehabilitation student from 2012 to 2013, he learned life skills such as money management, shopping with coupons, which he admits he's gotten very savvy with, and obtaining his Georgia Driver's License through the Driver Evaluation & Education program. Additionally, Jonathan learned essential job training skills such as how to operate a calculator, how to type, customer service skills and computer applications through the Business Information Technology program.
In 2014, Jonathan was offered a full-time position at RWS as an office clerk. Each day, he greets everyone who enters Blanchard Hall with a smile and provides much-needed support to current students and fellow staff members. Jonathan says learning to become independent was the best thing that ever happened to him and had he not attended Roosevelt Warm Springs, his story would have had a much different outcome.
For students with disabilities, the skills that most of us take for granted require specialized and individualized training. At Roosevelt Warm Springs, the Vocational Rehabilitation programs serve as the keystone in the development of programs and services that promote self-determination, maximize independence and achieve competitive integrated employment.
The Roosevelt Warm Springs Development Fund is solely devoted to supporting the mission of Roosevelt Warm Springs to "empower individuals with disabilities to achieve personal independence and employment success." Each and every student at RWS is genuinely excited about learning the skills that will enable them to live independently and gain employment. Roosevelt Warm Springs is making a huge difference in their lives.
